U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — Governor Albert Bryan Jr., announced Saturday morning that he will sign an Executive Order extending the territory’s current Stay at Home order.

The restrictions under the current Stay at Home Order are set to expire at 6 am Monday, August 31. Governor Bryan’s new Executive Order will extend those restrictions an additional week to 8 am Tuesday, September 8.

The governor is expected to provide additional details during his next weekly Coronavirus update at 1 pm on Monday, August 31. 

The VA Caribbean Healthcare System will be conducting testing for Virgin Islands Veterans during the period of August 31st thru September 28th, 2020 on the islands of St. Croix, St Thomas and St John.

St. Croix, US Virgin Islands—After further investigating cause of death and ensuring notification of next of kin, the Virgin Islands Department of Health is saddened to confirm the territory’s twelfth death related to COVID-19. The deceased is a 72-year old female on St. Thomas.

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – During his weekly press briefing on Monday, Governor Albert Bryan Jr. stressed the need for residents to refrain from moving about the Territory as the territory enters the critical second week of its “Stay at Home” phase.

While he announced some adjustments in easing some of the current requirements of his most recent executive order, the Governor also said this week is a pivotal week and that health officials are hoping that the Territory will see a return to a virus positivity rate of 5 percent or lower.
