Health Department Receives Remdesivir Donation from New Jersey Government

St. Croix, US Virgin Islands (September 4, 2020) -- The Virgin Islands Department of Health has received a donation of 800 vials of the COVID-19 treatment Remdesivir from the New Jersey Government.

The generous donation of the antiviral drug can potentially treat 100-200 patients depending on the severity of the virus and will be split between the Juan F. Luis Hospital and the Roy L. Schneider Hospital. This act of kindness will help the territory tremendously as we continue to build capacity and increase inventory of much-needed supplies.

Governor Bryan Extends ‘Stay-at-Home’ Order

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – During his weekly press briefing on Monday, Governor Albert Bryan Jr. gave details about why he extended the “Stay-at-Home” order until September 8.

As a result of the Governor extending the current restrictions, the planned September 8 reopening of the Territory’s public schools has been pushed back to September 14, and all school campuses remain closed.

Bureau of Motor Vehicles to Open with Limited Services

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS— Director Barbara Jackson-McIntosh would like to inform the motoring public that due to the extension of the Stay-at-Home order issued by Governor Albert Bryan Jr.; the bureau will only be serving customers by appointment only.  As Governor Bryan has extended the Stay at Home phase in an effort mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles has implemented the following protocols:
