The deceased is a 92-year old male on St. Thomas.

THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands – The Virgin Islands National Guard assisted with distributing the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farmers to Families Food Boxes at the Lionel Roberts Stadium in St. Thomas, Aug. 14. USDA purchased agricultural products under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act to support families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Coronavirus Food Assistance Program supplies the food boxes of fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and meat products out to the community.

St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands - The Schneider Regional Medical Center extended a helping hand by agreeing to accept 12 critically ill, elderly patients who tested positive for COVID-19 and requiring advanced levels of care.
U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – During his weekly briefing on Monday, Governor Albert Bryan Jr. reminded residents that the Territory returned to the “Stay at Home” phase for at least the next two weeks while the Bryan/Roach Administration continues trying to mitigate the resurgence of COVID-19 in the USVI.
U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – In an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Governor Albert Bryan Jr. has ordered the Territory to return to “Stay at Home” status, or the orange level, which means the closure of non-essential businesses, restaurants limited to take-out, delivery or drive-through service and prohibiting hotels, villas, Airbnbs, temporary vacation housing and charter vessels and similar businesses from accepting leisure travel reservations.
U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS —After proactively engaging with the Department of Health to test all staff and residents at both Department of Human Services Homes (DHS) for the Aged facilities in St. Croix and St. Thomas, DHS is now working with the Department of Health on a growing number of positive results in St. Thomas. Test results on August 12, 2020, revealed several Queen Louise staff and residents returned positive. Of 17 residents tested, 10 returned positive results, and of 25 Queen Louise staff tested, 6 tested positive.

As cases across the Territory continue to rise, DHS remains vigilant in their screening, educating, and monitoring of staff and clients. The Department of Human Services continues to work in close connection with the Department of Health to ensure availability of prompt testing. DHS is also arranging, this week, for professional cleaning and sanitization of impacted facilities.
